The Parrish Charitable Foundation, partnered with the Dallas Urban Debate Alliance, and the Dallas Independent School District to host the 7th annual DUDA Invitational at H. Grady Spruce High School.
Over 30 students participated in the 2025 competition. The topic of debate was “Resolved: This house would allow American public schools to ban books with controversial content”
During the celebration reception for this event, $18,000 in scholarships were awarded to the finalist.
Each of the six students who excelled and advanced to the championship round were awarded scholarships of $3,000 a piece. Winners included Bernardo Esquivel, Duaa Hassan, Emanuell Vargas, Mason Klien, Princes Tanye and Sara Elias. Roland Parrish personally presented all the winners with checks.
Mr. Parrish also took a moment to address members of the Spruce football team who were in attendance.

During their seven-year partnership, The Parrish Charitable foundation has contributed over $35,000 to DUDA.
