16TH ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND CLASSIC POWERED BY PARRISH CHARITABLE FOUNDATION

Running has been a passion of Roland Parrish since he was an adolescent. The leader of the Parrish Charitable foundation once again provided opportunities for young athletes that share that same passion at the 16th Annual Memorial Day Weekend Classic.

Attendance was an estimated 12,000 The largest turnout ever for this event. The thousands that came out to the City of Champions, DeSoto Texas to support hundreds of young athletes competing. Local and state dignitaries were in attendance. DeSoto Mayor Rachel Proctor along with State Senator Royce West. DeSoto Swift Track headlined the event with several outstanding runners. Mr. Parrish was vocally supportive and hands on with a lot of the runners showing all the passion still burns strong for Track & Field.

That passion, allowed his purpose to shine simultaneously – with a donation of 50,000 dollars to the DFW Youth Track and Field Organizations in attendance.

LIKE FATHER LIKE SON… In 2014 Roland Parrish threw out the honorary first pitch for the Texas Rangers at the Ballpark in Arlington. Eleven years
