2024 Black History Servant Leadership Award

Ten outstanding leaders in the community were honored at a ceremony during Black History Month, hosted by Mayor Pro Tem Tennell Atkins.

Roland Parrish was one of the ten receiving the ‘Black History Servant Leadership Award.’
The Honorable Helen Giddings, Johnnie King of the King Group, Inc and Hiawatha Williams of Williams Chicken were among the honorees.

Other notable leaders in the community, including lawmakers, business owners, and key executives were recognized as well. Pastor Richie Butler from St. Luke Community United Methodist Church served as the Keynote Speaker.
